This course is designed to equip you with the skills needed to respond effectively to common outdoor medical emergencies. You will learn essential steps to take when faced with injuries, whether they involve yourself or others. Providing prompt first aid is crucial in preventing further harm and potential fatalities.
  • First Aid Responsibilities and Incident Assessment: Understand the crucial role of a First Aider, develop effective incident assessment skills.

  • Unresponsive Casualty, Seizures, and Choking: Manage unresponsive casualties, handle seizures, and assist choking incidents.

  • Bleeding, Shock, and Minor Injuries: Skills to manage external bleeding, respond to shock, and address minor injuries outdoors.

  • Water-Related Incidents: Provide first aid for casualties affected by water immersion.

  • Identification and Administration: Recognise signs, symptoms, and administer first aid for various injuries, including burns, scalds, and conditions affecting eyes, ears, and nose.

  • Poisoning, Anaphylaxis, Bites, and Stings: Respond to sudden poisoning, anaphylaxis, and bites or stings.

  • Environmental Effects: Offer first aid for casualties experiencing the effects of heat or cold.

  • Major Illness: Administer first aid for suspected major illness.

Upon successful completion of the First Aid for Outdoors Course, participants will receive:

  • Certification: A recognised certification in First Aid for Outdoors.

  • Skill Validation: Validation of acquired skills through practical application.

  • Confidence Boost: Increased confidence in handling outdoor medical emergencies.
