This two-day course is a transformative experience, equipping you with essential skills to promote positive mental health among children and young people. From understanding legal obligations to identifying vulnerable groups, recognising common mental health issues, and learning to create effective mental health action plans.
- Module A: Promoting Positive Mental Health and Wellbeing
- Legal and Professional Obligations: Understand your legal and professional obligations related to mental health and wellbeing.
- Strategies and 5 Ways to Wellbeing: Evaluate your organisation’s wellbeing strategies and explore the “5 ways to wellbeing” theory.
- Behavior Management and Development Plan: Gain insights into the four stages of behavior and develop dedicated strategies. Introduce a Mental Health and Wellbeing Development Plan.
- Module B: Mental Health Awareness and Common Problems
- Recognising Signs and Mental Health Stigma: Learn to recognise signs of mental ill health in children and understand mental health and its stigma.
- Common Mental Health Issues: Identify specific mental health problems, including depression, anxiety, panic, OCD, and PTSD. Utilise mental health action plans.
- Suicide Awareness and Complex Mental Health: Identify complex mental health problems, signs of self-harm, and suicidal feelings. Understand the Stepped Model of Care and referral processes.
Upon successful completion of this Course, participants will receive:
