Fully aligned with Health and Safety Executive (HSE) standards, the course covers critical content, ensuring you gain proficiency in emergency response techniques and effective communication, so you’re prepared to make a real difference in critical situations.
Roles and Responsibilities of a First Aider: Learn about the critical roles and responsibilities of a first aider in emergency situations, understanding the importance of quick and effective response.
Incident and Casualty Assessment and Reporting: Gain expertise in assessing and reporting incidents and casualties accurately, a fundamental skill for effective emergency response.
Dealing with an Unconscious Casualty: Understand the appropriate steps to take when encountering an unconscious casualty, ensuring their safety and well-being.
Asthma: Explore the management of asthma-related emergencies, including recognising symptoms and administering proper aid.
Minor Injuries: Learn how to handle common minor injuries effectively, providing immediate relief and preventing complications.
Eye, Ears, and Nose Injuries: Acquire the skills to assess and administer first aid for injuries involving the eyes, ears, and nose.
CPR and AED (Defibrillator): Master cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) techniques and the use of automated external defibrillators (AEDs) to save lives in cardiac emergencies.
Choking: Understand how to respond to choking incidents, including the Heimlich maneuver and other lifesaving techniques.
Seizures: Gain knowledge on recognising and providing appropriate care for individuals experiencing seizures.
Shock: Learn how to identify and manage cases of shock, a critical aspect of emergency first aid.
